Stunning Oracle Delphi Mk IV With MVSS Upgrades. Includes SME 3009-R Tonearm.

According to Jacques Riendeau (the owner of Oracle) this is a Delphi MkI that was factory upgraded to a MkIV with the MVSS system.   The upgraded motor and controls are perfectly silent with fast spin-up and simple operation.  The MVSS upgrade is an interesting and effective approach to dampen oscillations and resonance with a floating plinth layout.  

The 3 aluminum pillars house specially chosen springs (extra springs included to adjust for different tonearms) and rubber dampers.  The pillars hold the aluminum plinth that supports the tonearm and platter bearing.  It's a great design that isolates the turntable from physical bumps and feedback from the reproduced sound waves in the room.  The drawback to this layout is feedback and ringing in the springs that impart an oscillation into the record and tonearm.  Step in the MVSS upgrade.  Next to the 3 cylinders you'll see 3 smaller cylinders.  These smaller cylinders hold a viscous fluid with a consistency of a sticky molasses. The bottom of the aluminum plinth holds special feet that dip into the fluid and couple both parts together almost like a 3 dimensional shock absorber. 

The tonearm is a SME 3009-R with an interesting rear weight that does not use the typical counterweight adjustment screw.  It works perfectly and looks stunning. 

All this to say the performance of the turntable is incredible.  Groove noise is the noise floor and the auditory experience is breathtaking.  Additionally, the visual impact of this turntable is astonishing.  It is a work of art.  The smoked acrylic base against brushed aluminum and crystal clear dust cover really makes an impact.  Of all the audio equipment I've had, this is the most visually impressive.  

Logistics: 

I'm selling the turntable without a cartridge, but I can provide one if requested.   Pickup or local meeting (within a reasonable distance to NE Ohio) is preferred, but shipping is available.  The turntable is reasonably light and packing into separate boxes is probably the best option.  Some assembly will be required if shipped, but I can provide a video and instructions to make it a fun process.  Please reach out to me if you need shipping so we can work out the details before purchase.
