McIntosh MC2105 Amplifier and C26 Preamplifier. Beautiful restored pair.

The McIntosh MC2105 amplifier and C26 preamplifier make a fantastic combo.   This pair gives you 105 watts x2 channels with the ability to enjoy everything from a new DAC (digital to audio converter) to a vintage turntable with a MM cartridge.   This is a matter of personal opinion, but I think these pieces represent the most handsome gear McIntosh created.  

The MC2105 amplifier has all new matched output transistors and has been recapped and calibrated.  The 2 main filter caps are recent McIntosh factory replacements.  I installed a new power cord because the factory cord was damaged, and the factory cord-grip was cracked.   The glass faceplate is original, with no cracks or blemishes.  The amplifier has all new LED lamps and has been thoroughly tested.  The chassis is not perfect, but the minor tarnish is cosmetic with no signs of serious pitting or corrosion.

The C26 preamplifier has all new electrolytic capacitors, and the controls were thoroughly cleaned.  The power supply is dead silent, and all the input stages work properly.  The chassis is nearly perfect on this C26 with only very minimal signs of age.   The glass faceplate is the factory original.  There is some slight bubbling around the headphone jack which is very common on these preamps.  I used new incandescent bulbs in the C26 to maintain even lighting across the faceplate. 

The pair includes matching McIntosh walnut cabinets.  The cabinets are in excellent shape with no marks from previously stacked components. 

This pair is in excellent cosmetic condition with only minimal signs of wear.  I’d consider them to be 9.5/10.

I’ve enjoyed this pair for approximately 10 hours, and everything is performing as expected.  The phono section is very quiet and will work well with any MM or high-output MC cartridge. I’m using an Ortofon Bronze cartridge, and the results are spectacular.  I use a simple BlueMe HD DAC for normal listening into the AUX with great results.

I am selling these components as a pair because I believe this is a great opportunity to own a complete McIntosh system without any headaches.  I can also provide  a video via facetime to review its operation and detailed condition.
