Refurbished and upgraded Phase Linear 8000 Series 2 Linear Turntable

This is rare and interesting turntable dubbed the "Phase Linear Model 8000 Series Two Linear Motor Turntable" -what a simple name! It's identical to the Pioneer PL-1000 but finished in this lighter bronze / silvery / gold-ish color instead of black.  Long story short, these are rather rare to find and exceedingly impossible to find in working condition.  This turntable was brought to me completely dead on arrival.  I began the necessary adjustments, cleaning, adjusting, swapping parts, adjusting, tweaking, and more adjusting to finally get it working perfectly as designed.  It's a very interesting design and resembles the construction of an early dot matrix printer in some aspects. The "ways" or rails that the tonearm travels are hardened bars and the tonearm is controlled with an array of light-sensing windows that keep the cartridge perpendicular to the center of axis... this keeps the left and right channels perfectly aligned and timed.  The best part about the turntable are the jog wheel and automatic controls.  Very few turntables have a smooth and reliable automatic functions like this.  Please watch the video and check it out.  It would have been neat to see more companies design linear turntables but the complexity made it difficult to complete.  Anyways, this Phase Linear is fully restored, upgraded and ready to enjoy.  The new RCA jacks are very handy and beat the old hard-wired cords.  A grounding lug is located next to the jacks which provides a shield around the new jacks.  There is no hum with the ground connected, and the ground is 100% required as the plinth is cast aluminum. The dust cover is in good shape with no cracks, but it does have some minor scratches and swirls.  I did not attempt to polish the dust cover.  I have all the factory paperwork and packing materials which are a MUST for shipping.  Shipping is included to the 48 states.
