Sansui AU-999 TU-999 Pair

I started this hobby with a severe addiction to Sansui equipment.  I was drawn to the various physical design styles, features, naming conventions, and the interesting changes throughout their lines.   The AU and TU 999 was the top of the line for this series of integrated amplifier/tuner combos.  

I throughly checked the pair before beginning the project.  Everything sounded good and I was very impressed.  I decided to replace the electrolytic caps in the AU and leave everything original.  There was no corrosion on the transistor legs and the bias / DC is rock solid.  The tuner works well and sounds good, but, the signal strength meter and the automatic FM Stereo function is not working.  I've tried a few various antennas with no luck.  I am basically including the tuner for free, so please don't expect it to be perfect. 

The AU-999 is functioning well, all inputs are clear and the controls are quiet.  The cases are in good overall condition but not perfect. There are a few scratches and dings here and there.  The faceplates are in very good shape.  There is a small factory flaw in the black anodizing to the upper-right of the bass adjustment.  There are also a few nicks in the faceplates that can be seen in the photos. 

I'm probably being overly cautious with this description, but it's all about honesty.
